Application for Confluence

In September 2025, the manufacturer of the product (Atlassian) announced that the Data Centre version of Confluence will be discontinued. All customers must switch to a different solution by spring 2029. This announcement also affects us, as we currently use the Data Centre product.

From 15 January 2026, no new institutes or departments will be admitted to Confluence. Work can continue in existing Confluence Spaces, and new colleagues at institutes and departments that are already using Confluence will be granted access. New Confluence Spaces will only be created after careful review by the Confluence Team; new personal Confluence Spaces will no longer be created. You will continue to receive support in the form of email support and on-demand consultation hours. Our Confluence training courses will also be converted to on-demand.

On 1 December 2025, we  launched a project to find the best solution for our future knowledge management. Over the coming months, we will evaluate various solutions and make an informed decision. In doing so, we will pay particular attention to aspects such as data protection, usability, migration security, and the transfer of your existing authorization concepts. Our goal is to retain as many of the proven features as possible while benefiting from new opportunities. The actual migration will take place in 2026 and 2027, and we will allow sufficient time for training, testing and a structured transition.
