CATIA licenses can only be purchased at the student council for aerospace engineering. For aerospace engineering licenses can only be purchased from Mr. Reyle.

Description:
The company Jet Brains offers software for the development environments, e.g. CLion (C/C++), IntelliJ (Java), PyCharm (Python). The products are provided free of charge as Community Editions. The entire portfolio, consisting of more than 20 development and productivity tools, is available free of charge to students, professors and research assistants.
The software can be obtained directly through the manufacturer.

Description:
MATLAB is used worldwide to solve mathematical problems, for evaluation and analysis of data and the graphical representation of the results.
Simuslink offers a graphical development environment for the design and simulation of technical systems and is used in many industries to solve demanding technical problems. The program contains among others the following features:
- Solving mathematical problems
- Graphical representation of the results
- numerical calculations using matrices
- many add-on tools
All Students of the University of Stuttgart are entitled to use the campus license on any number of personal computers. The campus license includes MATLAB and Simulink. For more tools check the detailed list on your MATLAB account.
Download and installation:
To use the MATLAB license it is necessary to provide the following information correctly.
- Student E-mail address
- First name
- Surname
Incorrect or incomplete information may cause an exclusion of the MATLAB campus license. So please provide your name correctly.
Installation on computers of the university and use by employees and staff of the university is explicitly not permitted under the Student Option. Any commercial use of the products is excluded.
- Save the activation key on your computer!
Save the Activation key in a place where you can find it again, because if you want to use the license longer than one year, you have to reactivate the license with this Activation key. - Create a MathWorks Account

Description:
Registered students of the University of Stuttgart have the opportunity to use Office 365 Pro Plus. The licensing program is coordinated by the University of Tübingen, which has also compiled all the relevant information (German only).
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Range: Office 365 Pro Plus, which means Office for local installation without user account and online storage.
Cost: The portal operator charges a management fee of 3.99 € a year, otherwise there are no costs.

Description:
Microsoft Azure Dev Tools is a licensing program for the IT-education in the STEM-subjects(Imagine). A legal and simple access to Microsoft creating tools is made available to students and teachers of these subjects. The University of Stuttgart is in possession of a standard-license for all students and teachers. However, the University is only allowed to permit access to the more expansive Imagine Premium to the STEM-faculties (Faculties 1 - 8 and part of faculty 10).
The software obtainable through the website may also be installed on private computers of University employees and students as long as it is only used for non-commercial research and teaching. Please not the information regarding the subjects permitted to use Imagine Premium.
For Microsoft Office, a separate licensing program for students of all Universities of Baden-Wuerttemberg exists and is offered by the University of Stuttgart. Further information can be found here.

MS Imagine is replaced by MS Azure Dev Tools for Teaching on the 11th of February 2019. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not been able to provide us with any information on how to register for the new service. Therefore, we can neither implement nor test the connection of the university accounts to the new service "Azure Dev Tools" in time. At the same time, data protection issues arise, as anonymous registration (as before) will probably no longer be possible. Access to MS Imagine will therefore end on the 10th of February. As soon as we have further information, we will make it available here. Until then, we ask for your understanding.

Origin is an analysis and visualization program for scientific data. The offered Origin Professional Edition includes all the features of Origin plus extended analysis tools in addition for statistics, 3D fitting, image and signal processing.
Due to significant reduction of our budget, we can no longer sponsor the Origin license. Origin licenses can only be bought for the full price of 108,29€ per year.
Students of all faculties of the Universität Stuttgart are entitled to acquire this student license. The price is around 108,29 € in ADDITIVE's online shop, which distributes student licences for the University of Stuttgart. The program contains the following features, among others:

Description:
QtiPlot is a tool for scientific data analysis and for creating graphical renderings of analyzed data.
Students of all faculties are entitled to use the campus license on as many private PCs as they want.
The license includes QtiPlot for the following operating systems:

To be able to use QtiPlot you have to download Python 2.7.

SolidWorks software integrates a wide range of tools for mechanical CAD, design review, product data management, design communication and CAD productivity in one easy to use package.
Students from all faculties of the University Stuttgart are entitled to use the software. It can be used on any number of private computers.

It is not allowed to use this license for PhD research! To use the correct license you have to contact your responsible institute - which then has to purchase a research license.

Description:
This product is designed to detect malware (viruses, worms, Trojan horses, etc.) and provide protection and removal regardless of the way the malware entered the system. The software is protected by copyright.

We recommend students at the University of Stuttgart to install e.g. the version "Sophos Home" for Windows and MacOS, which is now available for free for private use.
Furthermore, this selection can also be used for a decision.
Please note, that it is necessary to previously uninstall pre-existing Sophos-Installations.

Description:
SPSS is an application that allows you to analyze data statistically. The basic module offers the core statistical procedures. Add-ons are available for special tasks. The stand-alone application AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures) can be used for structural equation modeling (SEM) to compare, confirm and refine models easily.
Students of all faculties of the University Stuttgart can use the campus license. The students of the University Stuttgart can use it on any private computer.

Description:
The TIK has obtained a membership for the VMWare Academic program for the University of Stuttgart. The license contains, among others, the following products:
- VMWare Workstation (Windows/Linux)
- VMWare Fusion (Mac)
- VMWare vSphere
- VMWare vCenter Server
The license allows the private use of the software as well as the use in research and teaching. Infrastructural use is strictly prohibited.
All students of the University of Stuttgart are permitted to get a single license per product. If you need an additional license, you will need to purchase them for the regular price.
Information regarding the terms of service can be found here: Terms of Use VMWare Please mind the End User License Agreement (EULA). The violation of this agreement can lead to an exclusion from the program for the whole University, not only yourself!
